Engraving & Cutting

Learning Commons Makerspace is now equipped with a professional-grade 70 watt Boss Laser LS 1630 CNC laser engraver and cutter. This machine is capable of egraving high-quality text or images onto a variety of materials, such as woods, glass, acrylic, leather, metals and more. The machine has a cutting area of 15.75” by 29.50” and is equipped with passthrough slots for large objects and a rotary attachment to engrave rounded objects. The machine works in conjunction with vector and raster image files such as JPEG, PNG, SVG or PDF.

Submit a Project

Similar to our on-demand 3D Print Request system, Connetquot Public Library members can submit project requests for objects to be engraved, scored or cut. Images and project description must be submitted for review prior to engraving. Materials must be supplied by the member and be scheduled for drop off at the Learning Commons. We recommend using inexpensive materials. If you need help submitting a design, please email or call us at 631-567-5079. Click on the button below to submit your design and request.
