People Around Town: Larry Hinkson

You may have seen Larry Hinkson riding his “utility bike” around town, which he has equipped with baskets so he can do most of his weekly shopping by bike. Mr. Hinkson moved to Bohemia with his family from Queens in 1971 and continued to commute to his job at Con Edison where he worked as an electrical maintainer at the power plant know as Big Alice. He retired 21 years ago and keeps busy with many activities including biking, walking at Heckscher Park, flying radio controlled aircraft with the Heckscher Park modelling club, ping pong, and sailing a sunfish. He shared with us his enthusiasm for living in the Connetquot area and his positive philosophy of life.
